About this site, its history, and how the site functions
- How do I list an event (or band, dj, school, etc.) on the site?
- I see an existing listing on the site, that i didn't create, and would like to change or enhance it. How?
- My Dance Organization is not in one of your main cities. Should I still add a listing, and where?
- What is 'Distance' measured from?
- What timezone region is used for the calendars?
- How do I vote in the 'member rating'?
- I would like to have members contact me, but dont want people to see my email address. (Updated)
There is no charge to add a listing. First - make sure its not already listed. Then to create a new listing you have to be logged in. Then select 'Add a Listing' from the menu, and edit the form. Once submitted, you will be able to see the item, but it will remain hidden from others until it is approved by the editors. You can track its status from the 'My listings' page. We may contact you before it goes 'live'. You can then edit whenever you wish.
If you would like to edit or manage an existing listing on the site, that is about you or your organization, please let us know. You would then be able to make changes, corrections, or add more description to the item whenever required.
When you post on any of our sites, it will appear on all of them. Also, when people log into any of our sites, they can set their location to any place they want. We accept and show listings from any location.
If you are not logged in to a particular site, or have not set up your 'Location' in 'My account', the site will show to you distances measured from the centre of the selected town.
But if you log in and have set your 'Location' in 'My account', it will show to you distances measured from YOUR OWN PERSONAL location!
No one else sees your address - when members log in they will see their own address. If you don't want to put your full address in 'My Account', you can always put in just your country, city & postal code.
The times in actual writeups should be specified in their own local timezones.
But times shown in our calendars are converted to a single timezone region as follows:
If you are not logged in, all times in our calendars will be shown to you in the local timezone of the main city for the site.
But if you are logged in, all times in the calendars will be shown to you using YOUR OWN PERSONAL timezone, as chosen in 'My account'.
You have to be logged in to vote. Then drag your mouse over the rating stars and click when you have set your rating. If the vote item in a list flickers back and forth when trying to vote, go to the particular item itself, and vote there at the top. Its easier. You can vote on any items you wish.
First, it is not possible for people to discover an email address that is stored in an account. It is private and we won't give it out to anyone.
But people can contact others on this site by using private messages - all you need to know is the person's member id on this site. Log in, and go to 'My messages'. There you can send messages to other members, read your messages, or block other people from messaging you.
And others won't know your real email address, unless you tell them yourself.
By the way, email addresses entered on listings on this site cannot be 'captured' by spam bots. They may look to you like real email addresses in our listings, but to a spam bot, they are invisible!
