We belong to the National Square Dance Camper Association (NSDCA) and the purpose is to provide an opportunity for and to encourage those interested in both modern western square/round dancing and camping.
We CAMP and SQUARE DANCE.
We meet on the 4th Friday, Saturday & Sunday, of each month from May to & incl. September.
Friday is our theme night and the organizing committee for that particular weekend, dream up a theme for the weekend and we dress accordingly on Friday. Saturday starts with coffee followed by a round or line dance workshop and then a square dance workshop. That afternoon there is some form of entertainment...maybe..crafts or scavenger hunt or fun golf or maybe swimming followed by a potluck supper. In the evening, is our Saturday night dance, square dance attire appreciated, followed sometimes by entertainment put on by the weekend committee and theme treats. Sunday is a non-denominational church service, then dancing and a must-go lunch.
All this is in the enclosed, well-lit REC HALL with fans, running water and a washroom. (we don't rough it).
Any Mainstream Level square dancer with a tent or camper is more than welcome to come for a weekend or dancing. You don't have to join NSDCA the first time - just visit and try us out.
For non-camping dancers, Saturday is our open dance and you are welcome to attend ($7.50 per person).
