Ottawa English Country Dance Club meets September through May; 7:30 Fridays at the Mlacak Centre in Kanata , and 7:30 on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at Orange Hall, Rosemont Ave, in Westboro.

We dance mainly, although not exclusively, traditional English Country dances, many dating from the 17th & 18th centuries.

Dances range from lively dances that would have been danced at English village celebrations years ago, like the kind you might have done at an English Barn Dance, to the elegant ones you may have seen in Pride and Prejudice and other costume dramas.

It is not necessary to bring a partner. Dress is usually casual with occasional dress-up events. Beginners are welcome, we run classes starting in September and January. More detail at OttawaEnglishDance.org
