If at first you don’t succeed, look in the trash can for them dance step instructions.

September 1 & 2 2010 opening shows with DJ Hugh Kaye and the newest addition to the Classics4life Team, DJ Small Hands sure got to the core of what the listeners really wanted to hear, it was dance classics wall to wall, in fact the windows even moved to the grooves. If listeners didn’t have enough after that spell, DJ Ron’s two hour show set the stage with another super high blend of #1 dance artists spinning Janet Jackson’s “He Doesn’t Know I’m Alive”, Evelyn King’s “Your Personal Touch” topped with a rare vocal track mix by the one and only Gloria Gaynor and Friends. So from all of us here at the Studio, we hope to see you again next time. Thank you for all your support.

Outdoor Dancing

There are several outdoor dances throughout the summer in Montreal, and I know quite a few people who make the trip fairly often. Many of these dances are hosted by the city. All that is required is a sheltered smooth dance surface (polished concrete is good), electricity, lighting, and some seating. A scenic setting and washrooms would be an added bonus.

I am posting this in the hope that someone might take this idea and run with it. I know it's too late for this year, especially if the City is involved, but we could get things in place for next year.

In Verdun, there is dancing most evenings all week. Each night features anything from Argentine Tango, to Ballroom and Latin to swing dance and line dancing. Dancing outdoors in the nice weather is so delightful. It would be nice to have something like that closer to home.

Let me know if you have any suggestions as to location, volunteers, or how to proceed.

Ever wonder how you make a tissue dance………just put a little boogie in it!

What an impressive line up of artist dance tracks on Wednesday night August 18 2010 with DJ Hugh Kaye. His radio show production left no floor tiles unturned with his combination of funky 70’s and 80’s boogie tracks which truly made all of us shed the inches, outstanding! Moving into Thursday evening August 19 2010, DJ Chris the master mixer took to the air waves with his sixty minutes of fast paced move your body music spins making way for the DJ Ron Show. Now this DJ is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to making precise connections to the heart. WOW, opening with such greats as Luther Vandross and George Benson, clearly his fans were transforming into putty. Taking command of this emergency DJ Ron steadily turned up the beats per minute with Carrie Lucas – Show Me Where You’re Coming From and Howard Johnson – So Fine, leaving his fans fully re-vitalized and ready for more.
Many thanks to everyone for your support of these super Entertainers. Cheers!!

One who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain during their Life Time.

Bravo to DJ T-Ben for spinning some super dance classic blends from the eighties Saturday evening August 14th 2010. What a night! This non stop entertainer played some knock out tracks from Odyssey-Back To My Roots, Thompson Twins - In The Name Of Love and the one and only D Train - Walk On By. If this wasn’t enough for the fans DJ FunkED stopped by the show and presented his latest production Time Warp - Back To The 80’s, so be sure to check it out on youtube, you wont be disappointed.

Many thanks to all our supportive listeners and chat box guests around the globe for bringing us into your homes and workplaces. Cheers!

Ottawa WCS & Hustle Dancers Reign Supreme at TOSH 2010

We can't help but brag just a little bit. While our students typically do well in competitions throughout North America, at the Toronto Open Swing/Hustle Dance Championships, they absolutely dominated the podium.

Following are the results for any Ottawa competitor who made Finals or better. Ottawa dancers are shown in colour- and we're proud to have had a hand in teaching nearly every one of them at some point over the past 3 years, as well as many of them on a regular basis today. We commend them for their hard work, talent and fabulous attitudes. Go, Canada!

With proper diet, rest, and lots of dance music a healthy body will last a Life Time.

Well, if you missed this weekend’s show line up on August 6th and 7th with DJ Klees and DJ T-Ben, you lost out on a fantastic line up of dance artist tracks, and some first class performances by these Dee Jays. Of course each DJ had their own style of entertaining their audience, Klees’s line up music tracks on Friday night spread the air waves with Midnight Star - You Can't Stop Me, The Whispers – Emergency, and George Benson - Love X Love just to mention a few. Klees’s taste of Jazz-Funk also brought some exciting new vibes to his fans with a track from New Jazz Hustlers - Everything And More. DJ T-Ben on the other hand set his turn tables on fire Saturday night with a surprising show of recent artists with Gold De Mars – Tonight and Change – Say What You Wanna Say, and then shifted his mix to the 80’s with Revelation – Stand Up Reach For The Sky and Bill Withers – Lovely day. Request after request, T-Ben's extensive collection of vinyl’s pleased his fans with their selections.
